Greetings Mishoe Family:

For several years I have been researching the Mishoe's genealogy. Just recently I have found new documented information on the Rev John Mishoe.

According to the death records of Reverend John Wesley Mishoe I, he was born on the Eldorado Plantation of McClellanville, South Carolina in Charleston County. The original plantation lands are today called 'The Santee Coastal Reserve".

Reverend John Wesley Mishoe I was born to Boston Mishoe and Martha Alston Mishoe on January 16, 1834.

The first wife of John Mishoe was Teana Brockington of Georgetown, S.C. Four daughters were born to this union. Eliza Mishoe, Mary Mishoe Gardner, Diana Mishoe Frazier and Betty Mishoe

After the death of his first wife John bore a son with Bina Johnson. The son George Sellers Johnson was born in 1880 and died in 1950 at the age of 70 in New Hanover, North Carolina. The death record of George Johnson clearly lists John Mishoe as his father.

The second wife of John Mishoe was Amanda Moore of the Bucksport Community or Bucks Township as it was called in the early 1900's.

Seven children were born to this marriage. Katherine Mishoe Sessions Herd, Mattie Mishoe Roper, John Mishoe II, Henry Mishoe, James (Pinkie) Mishoe, Boston Mishoe and Carrie Mishoe who was stolen as a child.

John's third wife was Lottie Banta. Hannah (Goldie) Mishoe Hugway and Mary Alice Mishoe Thomas are the children of this marriage.

We are all descendants of his unions with 1st wife Teana Brockington, Ms. Bina Johnson, 2nd wife Amanda Moore and 3rd wife Lottie Banta. Reverend John Wesley Mishoe I outlived all of his wives. Regretfully, Grandpa John passed away on March 23, 1915 before finding a fourth wife.

Mr. Boston Mishoe, husband of Mrs. Beulah Rawls Mishoe, Son of Reverend John Wesley Mishoe I & Mrs. Amanda Moore Mishoe. They were married somewhere around 1919.

Parents of 16 children, but only 13 survived: Mr. Agnes Mishoe Gause, Mrs. Margaret Mishoe Sumpter, Mrs. Retha Mishoe, Lula Belle Mishoe, Mable Mishoe, James Arthur Mishoe, Mrs. Mildred Mishoe McCray, Helen Lee Mishoe Hunt, Boston Mishoe, Jr., Mrs. Pearl Harbor Mishoe, Mrs. Jessie Mae Mishoe Graham, Betty Joyce Mishoe.

Cousin Joseph (Joe) McCray was asked to do a family tree on just the Boston Mishoe Family, starting with listing all of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, etc., which he completed for the 2018 MGMR Family Reunion. It is phenomenal and truly inspiring.
